Ian 'Molly' Maulkinson
There's a lot than can be said about this great man, was always there if anybody needed a chat, was the best friend anybody could wish for, but on the football pitch Molly was a genius, to say he was only little, nobody could get past him and nobody could get near him. Ian also had trials at professional football clubs but decided to remain at amateur level where he played with his friends for Eastmoor Youth Club, Eastmoor Albion, Butchers Arms and FC Rocking Horse. Ian sadly passed away in November 2008 aged 44 and his death was a shock to everybody. Ian is survived by daughters Rachel and Rebecca, and his sister Michelle.
Samantha Sykes
Samantha is the daughter of Eastmoor's longest serving goalkeeper Eric Sykes. A beautiful, bright young girl who was on the brink of starting her modelling career and was tragically murdered in March 2012 alongside her friend Kimberley, aged just 18 years old. Eric and his wife Julie have since set up The Samantha Sykes Foundation Trust which is a charity to help disadvantaged children get into further education. Philip and Sheridann Dickerson and Eastmoor Football Club are honoured to have staged their first big event in August 2014 which saw past and present players of Eastmoor and players from other clubs around the district come together to contribute to such a good cause which raised over £5,000.
